Our load balancing appliances are designed specifically for a rack
mounted environment and therefore the technology and components used are
industrial standard to support 24x7x365 operations. This compact appliance
is just 9" deep and with connectivity at the front enables easy access
and the ability to save rack space.
The Load Balancer software incorporates and supports open source software
that is combined within its proprietary program and contained within the
unique GUI. This
has enabled the setting up procedures to be simplified into a simple one
page entry that can be done by any competent system engineer. These user-friendly
appliances do not require an expensive IT consultant to install them.
What applications can I load balance?
- Web Sites and portals
- E-commerce, Application Gateways HTTP & HTTPS
- Email services including SMTP, POP3, and IMAP etc.
- Any other TCP protocol i.e. SSH, TELNET, FTP etc
How does load balancing work?
All requests for a page are routed through the load balancer, which then
distributes this request to one of a set of identical servers. Balancing
the incoming requests so that the load is evenly distributed. In the event
that one of the servers has to be removed for maintenance/upgrade/replacement
the load balancer seamlessly re-distributes the load evenly over the remaining
servers. This gives a resilient and seamless experience to the clients.
Scalability
HAB Load balancer scales the performance of a server-based program,
such as a Web server, by distributing its client requests across multiple
servers within the cluster. As traffic increases, additional servers can
be added to the cluster.
High Availability
Using two HAB Load balancers provides high availability by automatically
detecting the failure of a server and/or load balancer and repartitioning
client traffic among the load balancer/servers, while providing users
with a seamless continuous service.
What is a HAB Load balancer?
A HAB Load balancer is a layer 4 switch that manages a cluster of
servers providing a seamless balance of requests.
HAB Basic - Is a single NIC appliance suitable for small to medium
enterprises with no mission critical environments and not more than 150,000
simultaneous requests.
HAB Enterprise - is a dual NIC appliance suitable for large enterprises
with no mission critical environments and up to 4 million simultaneous
requests.
HAB Enterprise HA - is a pair of dual NIC appliances suitable for
large enterprises with mission critical environments and up to 4 million
simultaneous requests.
Common features of Load Balancers
- Schedulers: Round Robin, Weighted Round Robin, Least Connection,
- Weighted least connection
- Automatic replication of static and dynamic configuration from
master to slave load balancer
- Load balance almost any protocol i.e. HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP,
- Terminal Server etc.
- Persistence by source IP address or subnet
- Intuitive web based interface
