Definition of Spam
Spam is unsolicited e-mail on the Internet.
How do you get Spam:
You can get affected by Spam from many different sources i.e. email
address harvesting from newsgroups, web pages, outlook address book
viruses, mailing list the list is growing all
the time. It is also hard to track down spammers as they use badly
configured mail servers to send
bulk email.
How we stop Spam:
HAB Internet uses two anti Spam applications that are updated every
hour to help with the fight against spammers. We run a policy of marking
what we think is Spam with special headers, incase the algorithms
have made a mistake and identified legitimate email as Spam. You can
then move all messages marked as Spam to folder on you local machine
to view later or delete, keeping your inbox Spam free.
Definition of a Virus
A Virus is a computer program, that is loaded on your computer without
your knowledge, and runs without your consent.
How we stop Viruses:
We have two different Antivirus engines running that scan your inbound
email message twice for virus. We use two different Antivirus engines
to be sure that we have not missed a virus, due to either engine
not recoginsing the virus.
The viruses that we protect you from are ones that are sent via
email. You will still need purchase a Antivirus package for your
computer to stop virus from other sources.
