Definition of Spam

Spam is unsolicited e-mail on the Internet.

How do you get Spam:

You can get affected by Spam from many different sources i.e. email address harvesting from newsgroups, web pages, outlook address book viruses, mailing list the list is growing all the time. It is also hard to track down spammers as they use badly configured mail servers to send bulk email.

How we stop Spam:

HAB Internet uses two anti Spam applications that are updated every hour to help with the fight against spammers. We run a policy of marking what we think is Spam with special headers, incase the algorithms have made a mistake and identified legitimate email as Spam. You can then move all messages marked as Spam to folder on you local machine to view later or delete, keeping your inbox Spam free.

Definition of a Virus

A Virus is a computer program, that is loaded on your computer without your knowledge, and runs without your consent.

How we stop Viruses:

We have two different Antivirus engines running that scan your inbound email message twice for virus. We use two different Antivirus engines to be sure that we have not missed a virus, due to either engine not recoginsing the virus.
The viruses that we protect you from are ones that are sent via email. You will still need purchase a Antivirus package for your computer to stop virus from other sources.
